About Us

Rock River Soapworks began 18 years ago, driven by my personal need to eliminate toxins and chemicals commonly found in everyday body care products.

My natural goat milk soaps are handmade from scratch using my own created recipes. All products are made with the finest natural and organic ingredients; fresh local goat milk, food grade oils, luxuriant butters, spices, herbs, botanicals, clays, and pure essential oils and/or absolutes. My products never contain artificial colors, dyes, or synthetic fragrances, and ingredients are obtained from Fair Trade sources, my own garden, or from locally grown sources whenever possible.

Due to the handcrafted nature of my soap, bar size and color may vary - making each one a unique and very personal treat for you, or a wonderful gift for someone special. I never use off-the-shelf compounds, bases or additives, and do everything by hand; from the mixing and blending of the goat milk, vegetable oils, butters, and additives, to individually hand-cutting, wrapping/packaging, and labeling each bar by hand. Each batch of my all-natural soap is made in small quantities, the cold process way, and is formulated to be rich lathering, deep cleansing, and skin conditioning.

Rock RiverSoapworks is committed to taking part in being environmental responsibility. All soaps are palm-oil FREE; with the exception of shaving bars, which are made with organic certified sustainable palm oil. Regular-sized soap bars are either wrapped/packaged with a handmade tree-free [plantable] seeded paper that is imbedded with wild flower seeds, or in a recyclable, sustainable paper board box. My lip balms and deodorants are packaged in eco-friendly paper board tubes that you can recycle or compost after use and feel good about reducing your plastic impact on the environment!

I am often asked, ”What's the big deal about palm oil?” The palm oil industry is linked to major issues such as deforestation, habitat degradation, climate change, animal cruelty and indigenous rights abuses in the countries where it is produced, as the land and forests must be cleared for the development of the palm oil plantations. As a consumer, you can help to reduce your contribution to deforestation for palm oil by making some simple lifestyle changes. You can read more HERE!

I take great pride in creating for you, superior products that are derived from my love of, and collaboration with Mother Nature. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.
